Overview

The 10 Days Bale Mountains Trekking Tour is a deep exploration of Ethiopia’s most spectacular highland wilderness. This extended trek takes you through the heart of Bale Mountains National Park, crossing Afro-alpine plateaus, dramatic escarpments, pristine valleys and remote moorlands. The journey offers excellent opportunities to spot endemic wildlife such as the Ethiopian wolf, mountain nyala and giant molerat, while enjoying untouched landscapes and tranquil campsites. Day 01: Arrive in Addis Abeba: Bole international airport, meet with Armaye Ethiopia Tours representative then transfer service to hotel for overnight.

Day 02: Addis Abeba – Bale Mountains National Park: Morning take a drive to Bale Mountains which is going to be 400 Km to the south east of Addis admiring the landscape and the different cultural group of people. Overnight: Lodge at headquarter of the park

Day 03: Dinsho – Adelay: Today we start hiking from Dinsho /parkHQ/ to Adelay campsite 16km. pass through Gaysay grassland to see most of the Antelope families such as mountain nyala, menilik bushbuck and then to the woodland part of the national park.Overnight: Camp in Adelay Campsite

Day 04: Adelay – Sodota: Today after breakfast heading to Sodota across through moorland part of the NP and chance to see the rare and endangered canid Ethiopian Wolf 18km walk. Overnight: Camping in Sodota Campsite

Day 05: Sodota – Keyrensa: This day just heading to keyrensa campsite through the magic landscape view. on the way chance to see many bird species specially raptors. and as well as Ethiopian wolf. 20km. Overnight: Camping in Keyrensa Campsite

Day 06: Keyrensa – Rafu: Today walking up and steep to Rafu campsite pass through the panoramic view of Rafu rock pillars which is formed by volcanic lava flow. on the way chance to see Rock Hyrax, birds of pray, cliffs springer and the others. 20km. Overnight: camp in Rafu campsite

Day 07: Rafu – Gerba guracha: Today long walking through the largest Afro alpine part of the continent which is called Sanneti plateau. Over 4000masl 22km.after reaching the campsite walking around the biggest alpine lake which is called Gerba Guracha/”Black lake” in local language/. Overnight:  Gerba guracha campsite

Day 08: Gerba guracha – Konte/the main road/: Today after breakfast heading to the main road to meet with vehicle another 6km walk on sanneti plateau through Gaint lobelias and then drive to Goba town. Overnight: Goba Hotel

Day 09: Goba – Langano: Drive to Lake Langano, this Lake is crocodile and bilharzia free, and is a popular weekend resort for residents of Addis Ababa. On the way you will visit Abyata shalla National park ideal place for bird watching and then drive to Langano and relax. Overnight: Sabana Lodge

Day 10: Langano – Addis: Drive back to Addis and city tour of Addis Ababa and Shopping. In the evening dinner invitation at a traditional restaurant with folkloristic dances of different regions of Ethiopia, then transfers out to the Airport for your international departure.
