We went to Ethiopia with a lot of apprehensions about the language and skills of the tour companies. We chose Armaye due to the great reviews we read about him. In our opinion, this company performed way above expectations. Armaye personally received us at the airport, and by far (after our experiences in Kenya and Tanzania) was the warmest welcome we ever received from any east african tour operator. The guy is very genuine and we almost felt like we have known him for a while.

All arrangements were as discussed in our contract, and actually in certain instances beyond what was promised. That’s probably because Armaye keeps the conversation alive and continues to pick things to understand client requirements. He adapted the plan for us in bits for us to experience Ethiopia even better. Apart from all the above, I think we could not have had a better guide to inform us about the local birds and animals. He is very knowledgeable and didn’t miss any species we spotted. Last, but not the least, I think we couldn’t have had a better person to take us around the Sanetti plateau. We really wanted to spot the Ethiopian wolf and take photographs. Armaye spotted many wolves for us, while we were staring blankly into the expanse, unable to find one. He is definitely good at this.

We have been to Kenya 4 times and Tanzania once. By far, Ethiopia was has toppled the other two destinations for us as our favourite in east Africa, and much of it is due to Armaye and his warm hospitality.
